When Kat returns home with Nav at her side, her dad grills maple-glazed salmon.
1 lb fresh wild salmon
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp orange juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
Place the salmon in a shallow baking dish. Combine the other ingredients and coat the salmon. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, turning once.
Cook on the barbecue for approximately 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish and the heat of the barbecue. Baste with the reserved marinade as it cooks.
Alternatively, bake uncovered in the oven at 400 degrees F for approximately 10 minutes, basting with the marinade.
